The Ancient Hill Estate Winery is a boutique winery found in the Ellison area. It's located to the north of Kelowna and provides a great location for those coming in for a visit, along with residents.
With more than 60 years of experience on the land, the winery knows how to produce small lots of very delicious wine. The wine is made only from grapes grown at the vineyard and all wine is processed on-site. Ancient Hill is a European-style winery with plenty to offer for visitors.
The vineyard chooses only grape varietals capable of ripening on the vineyard land. The cooler location provides aromatic wines with the ability to create dynamic flavours not found in many other wines. Wines found at Ancient Hill Estate Winery include:
- 2010 Lazerus
- 2011 Pinot Noir
- 2012 Baco Noir
- 2013 Rose
- 2012 Pinot Gris
- 2011 Gewurztraminer
Many others are currently in the process. Since the winery only produces between 190 and 1,000 cases of each type of wine, it's only available while supplies last. Some of the wines are only produced in batches of around 300 cases.
The Wine Shop
The wine shop provides a tasting area with old world charm found throughout. There is a beautiful picnic area with panoramic views. You can enjoy the wines by the glass or bottle, but this is not a food service establishment. They do provide a limited assortment of crackers and cheeses and they do allow you to bring your own lunch.
