Taste of Home 2020
Date: February 1
Taste of Home is a celebration of the diverse array of cultures of the people of Kelowna, and of course the food that comes along with it. Travel around the world as you peruse booths with all sorts of different foods to sample, and speak with the people who share their cultural food with this event. Live music and dancing will also be present, providing sights and sounds from all over the globe. Bring family and friends with you to the celebration, and enjoy this entertaining multicultural experience.
The Colour Concert
Date: February 29
Fun and vibrant, The Colour Concert is a showcase of a varied palette of bands and their songs, all celebrating colour! 20 vivid and iconic songs will be performed, including the likes of Brown Eyed Girl and Red Red Wine. The talents of colourful artists such as Pink and Maroon 5 will also be featured. All proceeds from the event will be given to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, and taking photos is encouraged to help keep the memory of the event from fading. Come on by for an eye-catching event.
QB Gelato & Café: "Behind the Scenes"
Date: February 26
If you've ever wondered how gelato is made, or what the difference is between gelato and ice cream, then QB Gelato & Café's "Behind the Scenes" class is for you. Taught by Gelato Master Victor, this class takes place in QB's kitchen, where you will learn some secrets of what makes QB's gelato so flavourful. You'll even get to make gelato yourself as a class and enjoy a hand-crafted dessert. You'll even be able to take half a litre of gelato home with you at the end of the evening.
Dates: Mondays, January 13–February 24
Enjoy a chance to get your mind spinning with this Improvaganza class hosted by the Hothouse Theatre in January and throughout the month of February. Attendants will learn popular theatre games and the ins and outs of improvisation with a professional actor, developing their own improvisation skills to help in acting, comedy, work, and other places where the ability to think quickly is essential. At the end of the class, students will perform a final fundraising coffeehouse showcase to demonstrate their new skills. The course costs $150 and runs every Monday from January 13 to February 24, except Family Day.
